New Java client
The links to the old Java client has now been replaced by a link to the new client. A new version of the client has also been uploaded. This version should work better on GNU/Linux by selecting better fonts .

The Java MUD client can now also be run as a standalone application outside the web browser. To try it out you can download the client from here.

New Java applet Mud Client
I have started to develop a new Java applet that can be used to connect to Silver Bridge. The old applet that is currently in use has some very nasty flicker problems in newer versions of Java that makes it very difficult to use. The new client is similar to how modern MUD clients are setup.

If you would like to try it out please take a look at [link]

Mudlet the MUD client
There's a new MUD client in the works called Mudlet. While the client appears to still be in an early stage it look like it might be a promising project. Especially interesting is the aim to support both Windows, and Linux as well as the new style to output text from the MUD.

Intermud and IMC2
Lately I have been playing with Intermud protocols, especially IMC2. Intermud protocols allow MUDs to connect to a "chat server". Players can then send messages to eachother even if they play on different MUDs. There's also global channels available.

Some MUDs prefer to use a setup that is known as a "build port", a second copy of the MUD running on another port, to safely allow builders create areas without having to worry too much about security. Connecting both MUDs to an Intermud network then makes it possible to communicate between the two MUDs.

Two active intermud protocols are IMC2 and intermud3. Both are quite similar in what they offer. The currently active Intermud networks available appear to be Mudbytes Intermud(IMC2 server), and LPMuds.net Intermud(Intermud3 and IMC2 servers).

Updated link section
A new category has been added to the link section. The MMRPG category. The MUD section will contain text MUD links, while the MMRPG section will be about graphical MUDs.

Do you know of any good MUD/MMRPG resources that ought to be listed on the links page? Please post your suggestions to the feedback forum.
